Smell the Flowers | 12 days of Mini Paintings | Day 5
“Smell the Flowers” is an exploration of new techniques that Monica wishes to incorporate into future works. The fine line style is inspired by previous works such as the pen drawing of a kingfisher that Monica has previously completed. The painting features a cat, inspired by Monica’s 17 year old cat, but painted in a way that the imagination could place almost any cat in the figure.
The name; “smell the flowers” comes from the saying ‘to stop and smell the roses’ …. emphasizing the artist’s value of pausing and appreciating what makes you happy. Flowers only bloom for a short while, so it is important to smell them before they wilt away.

12 Days of mini paintings is bringing you small and giftable artworks, just before Christmas! Each artwork in this series is 20cm x 20cm*, created in my signature style using alcohol inks and acrylic, however may branch outside of my “usual” subject matter. I am excited to be offering these artworks to you, and to have the opportunity to spend time painting and exploring my medium.
These paintings will have the option to be either: loose, framed, or mounted on board with resin. This listing is for the loose (unframed) artwork only. To add on the frame or to be mounted on board and coated in resin, please add the extra option to your cart here.
