The Spring Garden Collection: original artworks & jewellery
The Spring Garden Collection is a series of original artworks and handmade jewellery by Monica Schinkel, inspired by a walk around the garden at her home in early spring. The garden was filled with beautiful flowers and birdsong, in a way which is both exciting, and soothing for the heart. The fresh air, bright colours, and grassy feet mark the end of the cold winter and spark an excitement for the joyous spring and summer months to come.
Golden
Those kowhai flowers really are golden. A bright signal that spring has sprung, and an open invitation to the local tui to sing their merry tunes. This painting uses watercolour on paper to explore the softness of an eerie spring morning, and the brightness that can still be found with the bold golden blooms on the greyest of mornings in the foggy Waikato.
