Blue Muse - Kotare | A3 Original
“Blue Muse” is an original mixed media painting by Monica Schinkel depicting a kotare/royal kingfisher seen from her studio window.
Kingfishers always seem to be sitting on their perch and watching for their kai. I also do plenty of sitting and watching - of the kingfishers! It is hard not be inspired by these gorgeous birds when I have the pleasure of watching from my studio window. It can get quite distracting having this flash of blue swoop down from his perch when he spots a tasty morsel on the lawn for his chicks!
Medium: This is completed in Monica’s popular choice of media - in vibrant alcohol based inks, with acrylic detail on yupo paper.
Size: A3 (29.7 cm x 42 cm)
