In Anticipation of Summer : original artworks & jewellery
In Anticipation of summer is a series of original artworks and handmade jewellery by Monica Schinkel, and a daydream of sorts of the upcoming summer and the time spent to be spent on the ocean. The collection of artworks, includes 3 paintings (Soft Glow, the Gurnard, & Playing in the Waves), all inspired by a day out fishing with my Grandad, while observing the beauty of all of the changing colours of the ocean. Some of the earrings are also insired by the ocean from this day, where others draw from the green of the bush from summer hikes.
Pohutukawa Princess
These stunning green earrings are as elegant as you are, and feature gorgeous hand- painted pohutukawa flowers, from New Zealand’s very own Christmas tree, and gold edges, making them perfect to wear for Christmas (or any other time).
Pendants: hand-painted resin, alcohol ink, and acrylic on yupo.
Findings: hypoallergenic gold filled posts.
