The Spring Garden Collection: original artworks & jewellery
The Spring Garden Collection is a series of original artworks and handmade jewellery by Monica Schinkel, inspired by a walk around the garden at her home in early spring. The garden was filled with beautiful flowers and birdsong, in a way which is both exciting, and soothing for the heart. The fresh air, bright colours, and grassy feet mark the end of the cold winter and spark an excitement for the joyous spring and summer months to come.
A Friend in a Tree
After the other birds hid away, leaving me to photograph only the kowhai flowers, one friendly tui swooped (rather noisily) into the tree, as if saying '“excuse me, I am very handsome…. take my picture”. And he posed, and posed, and posed.
